DaNeall “Nell” Dehner

Float Educator/Extended Care Lead (she/her/hers)

Hi everyone! My name is Nell, and this will be my first year teaching the Extended Care Program and my fifth year with DCP. Working with this community brought me so much fulfillment as an educator from 2019-2023 that I knew I’d return with my own child once he was old enough to attend.

I’m originally from Colorado but moved cross country after the birth of my son. Our decision to return was heavily motivated by DCP and the greater community that has formed around it. This is a place where children are given stewardship and viewed through a lens of development. When I moved away, I discovered this is truly a unique place. This is an experience that cannot easily be replicated elsewhere.

I currently hold many roles within the DCP community: I’m an Extended Care Lead Educator, I serve on the governing board as VP of Facilities and I have the joy of being a parent in the community as well. I’m honored to be so deeply involved in a program where parents are stakeholders in their child’s education—a place where we consider the child alongside their caregivers and create a welcoming space for all.

In my personal time I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading and studying human growth and development.
